Trees are the most valuable thing on most East Texas properties, and the most dangerous when they are ignored. Pines drop limbs, water oaks split in storms, and sweetgums crack at the worst possible moment. Mora Property Service has worked on East Texas trees for more than 30 years: pruning what should stay, removing what should go, and showing up after storms when it matters most.
If you have a limb over the house, a tree that is leaning, or a stump that needs to disappear, call 903-279-1868.
Tree pruning and trimming
Pruning is not just cutting branches. Every cut is a decision about how the tree grows for the next decade. We prune for structure, clearance, and health: removing dead and broken limbs, lifting low canopies over roofs and driveways, thinning where wind resistance is a problem, and cleaning up trees that have been topped or hacked in the past.
Species matter here. Pines need careful limb work. Oaks want pruning at the right time of year. Crape myrtles should never be chopped back to stubs. We cut for the tree you have.
Tree removal
Some trees cannot be saved. When a trunk is hollow, the roots are heaved, the lean is wrong, or the tree is dying and over a structure, removal is the safe answer. We remove trees in tight spaces: between houses, over fences, next to power drops, and over the things you cannot replace.
Removal is rigged and controlled, not dropped and hoped. Limbs come down in sections, the trunk comes apart from the top, and the site is cleaned before we leave. Stumps can be ground out and the hole filled so the yard is usable again.
Tree planting and relocation
The right tree in the right place is a 50-year asset. We plant shade and ornamental trees sized to the space they will grow into, not the space they fit today. We also relocate trees that are in the wrong spot but worth keeping, moving them while they can still handle the transition.
Tree health assessment
Not every problem is visible from the ground. Root damage, decay, and structural defects hide until a storm finds them. We assess trees for hazard — what is failing, how fast, and what it threatens — and give you a straight answer about what can be treated, what needs watching, and what needs to come down.
Storm and emergency service
When storms hit East Texas, the phone rings for days. Limbs through roofs, trees across driveways, trunks on fence lines, and hangers stuck in canopies. We run storm response for homes and businesses: emergency removal, hazard mitigation, and full cleanup. Commercial clients on contract get priority response through our commercial property service.
Why local tree care matters
East Texas tree work is not generic. The species are specific — loblolly and shortleaf pines, water oaks, sweetgums, post oaks, pecans. The failure modes are specific: saturated clay root plates, pine tops snapping in ice, hardwood limbs failing in summer storms. And the regulations are local too, with some municipalities requiring permits for removals. We know the trees and the rules.
