Landscape Design & Installation in Hideaway, Texas

Hideaway landscapes work with the woods, not against them. The community’s identity is its canopy, and the best yards here lean into it: shade-tolerant plantings that look intentional under the trees, beds that hold their shape without daily attention, and designs built for owners who may not be on site every week. Fighting the woods with sun-loving plants and demanding maintenance is how landscapes fail here. Working with the light, the soil, and the woodland character is how they succeed, and that is how we design in Hideaway.

The design process in Hideaway

Design starts with a walk of the property: how the light moves through the canopy, where water stands or runs when it rains, what the soil is doing, and how the property gets used. On second-home and rental lots, the walk includes a practical question: what will this landscape need while nobody is here? The answer shapes everything from plant selection to irrigation.

From there comes the planting plan: beds shaped around the wooded lot, selections that can hold under Hideaway’s pine canopy and acid ground, sizes at maturity, and materials for the mulch, edging, and connections the design needs. You see it before we buy a single plant.

Installation that lasts under canopy

Installation is where landscapes succeed or fail. Beds get cut clean, soil gets amended for sandy ground and alkaline pockets, and plants go in at the right depth and spacing for their mature size. Mulch goes down to hold moisture without smothering roots. We install trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and shade perennials chosen to handle Hideaway’s woodland light, humidity, and soil: hollies, magnolias, yaupon, hydrangeas, ferns, and understory selections that look at home in the pines and oaks.

Privacy and woodland screening

Screening matters on wooded lots too, and the request we hear most is softening the line between properties without clearing the woods that make Hideaway what it is. We build layered screens and understory plantings that add privacy while keeping the woodland feel, placed so they do not crowd the fence line or foundation when they mature.

Low-maintenance designs for absentee owners

For owners who are away, we design landscapes that hold their shape with minimal intervention: durable plantings, mulched beds that suppress weeds, and irrigation that runs on a schedule. The goal is a property that looks cared for every week of the year without demanding weekly attention.

Community and commercial landscapes

Clubhouse grounds, common areas, and rental properties use landscape design for entries, courtyards, and seasonal color rotations. Commercial installs are quoted for durability and low maintenance, and they can be folded into your property contract.

After the install

A landscape’s first season under the pines is the one that counts. We set watering schedules that fit the shade, and clients can add maintenance so the crew that installed the beds is the crew that tends them.
