On a working property, hardscape has a job beyond looking good. A patio is where the day ends after the work does; a walkway connects the house to the shop without a mud path in between; a small wall holds grade where the equipment turns. That means the work has to be durable first: sandy ground shifts under loads it was not prepared for, tree roots push through anything laid too shallow, and drainage that works in the open can stall under a canopy. We build outdoor spaces for rural reality, and we build them to take real use.
Mora Property Service builds hardscape and outdoor living spaces across Alba and Wood County. Call 903-279-1868 to plan yours.
Patios and walkways in Alba
We build patios in concrete, pavers, and natural stone, sized and shaped around how you actually use the yard: room for a table, a fire, a grill, and the traffic that comes with a big property. Walkways connect the patio to the house, the drive, the shop, and the garden so people stop wearing paths through the grass. Under all of it goes compacted, drained base work engineered for sandy subgrade, so surfaces stay level through wet seasons and dry ones.
Retaining walls and grade work
Sloped lots are common around Alba, and water always wins against a slope that is not managed. Retaining walls hold grade where it needs holding, turn hillsides into usable flat space, and stop soil from washing toward foundations and drives. We build timber, block, and stone walls with drainage designed in, because a wall without drainage is a wall with a countdown on it.
Outdoor living spaces
Alba’s long seasons are made for outdoor living, and we build the pieces that make people stay outside: fire pits and fireplaces, seating walls, pergolas and shade structures, and outdoor kitchens where the property supports them. On working properties, these spaces often become the real gathering point of the land, and we build them to match the house and the setting, solid enough to take the use.
Water features and lighting
Fountains and small features bring sound and movement to Alba properties, and low-voltage lighting doubles the usable hours: paths for safety, uplights on trees and walls, patio lighting for gatherings. On bigger properties, lighting also makes long walks and drives safer after dark, and the systems are built to grow in stages.
Church and commercial hardscape
Alba’s church grounds and small commercial properties use hardscape for entries, courtyards, and gathering spaces. Installs are quoted for durability and low maintenance, and they can be scheduled alongside a property contract.
Building for East Texas ground
Alba’s soil moves with the weather, and tree roots do not care where a patio ends. We build with expansion joints, correct setting methods for each material, root barriers where they are needed, and drainage that moves water away from the work instead of under it. It is the unglamorous part that decides whether the space still looks new in ten years.
